KARACHI – One of the most popular dramas of this year, Raaz-e-Ulfat, produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under 7th Sky Entertainment ended amongst much fanfare, attaining a superb 13.2 TRPs – bringing Geo to the front of the ratings game once again. Not only on our TV screens, social media was also ablaze with appreciation for the show – with twitter pouring in love for the creators and cast after the end.

The ebbs and flows of the drama continued till the last episode, as each character completed their journey and reached a fitting end, the main reason why the drama garnered as much love as it did. Throughout its run, this love and acclaim was reflected in the trending spots on YouTube – with Raaz-e-Ulfat, trending at number one after most of its episodes aired, sometimes even making it to the top 3 simultaneously. The last episode has also been on the trending list, which I no surprise given how much people loved the ending of the show.

Credit must go to Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi for creating something which resonated with the audiences. The drama showcased the class divide that exists in our society in a unique manner. Plus, it also focused on how quickly things can go unsavory if intentions are not pure. How people can be manipulated to doubt someone they love. The pitfalls of jealously and mistrust are the lessons from Raaz-e-Ulfat.

Another fascinating aspect of the drama was the dialogue writing. Unlike most dramas, here we saw use of what one would call salisurdu. Each dialogue had some deeper meaning. Usually, dramas these days use throw away lines and street lingo. But a real effort went into writing dialogues of Raaz-e-Ulfat one could tell.

Therefore, it was no surprise that the drama got such positive feedback from the audiences. Now we eagerly await to see what 7th Sky Entertainment comes up with next. The bar is set high with Raaz-e-Ulfat, nonetheless, you can trust Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi to deliver something novel and engaging yet again.
