DAY 1 (23rd February, 2023) 1.The 2nd edition of Engineering and Healthcare show, the flagship event of the Ministry of Commerce and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) was inaugurated by Malik Ghulam M. Raza Rabbani Khar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Commerce accompanied by H.E Nakadama Rukia Isanga 3rdDeputy Prime Minister of Uganda at Expo Center, Lahore. Mr. Zubair Motiwala, CE TDAP, Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, Secretary TDAP, other dignitaries and representatives from business community also attended the event.
2. EHCS 2023 is a sector specific trade event of the government of Pakistan that drew stakeholders from 39 countries and featured over 209 exhibitors including 184 companies and 25 trade bodies. The event aims to promote technological advancement in the field of Engineering and Healthcare sector of Pakistan.
3. In addition to the foreign buyers, as part of the visiting delegation, TDAP has invited Regulatory Authorities, Trade Promotion Organization, Chambers/ Associations from participating countries. Further to extract maximum benefit from this exhibition, TDAP is also facilitating industrial visits of the foreign buyers on the third day of the event.
4. In this 2nd edition of EHCS, Pakistan’s leading exporters are showcasing their range of product spectrum at Expo Centre Lahore primarily related to Pharmaceutical, Surgical, Agricultural Machinery, Construction, Automotive/auto parts, Sports goods, Mobile devices, chemicals, Handicraft, Cookware and Cutlery, Automotive and Auto parts, Furniture and Mattresses, Electric Fan/Home Appliances, Mobile Devices, Electrical Machinery, Cosmetics, Safety Equipment, Musical Instruments, and Packaging.
5. A full day session of B2G and B2B meetings was held at the opening session of EHCS 2023.Afterwards, the Malik Ghulam Mohammad Raza Rabbani Khar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Chief Executive TDAP & Secretary TDAP held meetings with delegations from the participating countries. The countries included Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Ghana, Rawanda and China, Hong Kong. The same country delegations also held meetings with office bearers of FPCCI, LCCI and DRAP. The country delegation headed by H.E Nakadama Rukia Isanga 3rd Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr. Faith Mwikari Ndiwa, Advisor to President of Kenya, Mike Kamungeremu, President, Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce expressed their gratitude to the government of Pakistan and appreciated TDAP’s efforts in organising this exhibition and B2G meetings.
6. TDAP also arranged approximately 930 sector specific B2B meetings of foreign buyers with local exhibitors. Further, 3 MoUs were signed by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry with Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) , Pakistan Hong Kong Trade & Investment Forumand with Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce to enhance bilateral trade. Leading Pharmaceutical companies also signed 5 MoUs with Kenyan, Ethiopian and Nigerian companies. Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry signed 2 MoUs with Hong Kong Trade & Investment Forum.
7. The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Commerce congratulated TDAP on organising a successful event and the hospitality extended to the foreign delegates. The event will contribute immensely in enhancing country’s image coupled with generating economic activity in the country in general, and within the engineering & healthcare export community. The event will continue till 25th February 2023.
