Karachi, 14 August 2025 – The Mohatta Palace Museum came alive with colors, music, and cultural exchange as it hosted the vibrant Marka-e-Haq Family Mela in celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Organized in collaboration with the Consulates of Türkiye, Indonesia, and Russia, the event ran from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and welcomed families for a day filled with festivities, performances, and international culture.

The celebrations began with a flag-hoisting ceremony, hosted by the management of Mohatta Palace Museum. Distinguished guests included Cemal Sangu, Consul General of Türkiye in Karachi; Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi; and Ruslan M. Prokhrov, Director of the Russian House in Karachi, all of whom participated in the ceremonial proceedings.

The mela featured consulate pavilions displaying the arts, crafts, cuisine, and traditions of the three participating countries. Among them, the Russian stall was a favorite for children, offering a captivating display of cultural items and engaging activities. Young visitors enjoyed lottery games with exciting prizes, word painting, face painting, and a variety of competitions, including singing, speech, drawing, and painting on Russian dolls.





On stage, the audience was treated to an array of live performances. Jam Allan, a folk singer, mesmerized the crowd with soulful tunes; the Saidad Matka dancers brought dynamic movement and energy; and Akhtar Chanal, a celebrated folk singer from Balochistan, delivered powerful traditional songs that resonated with the spirit of the day.

With its blend of cultural showcases, children’s activities, and live entertainment, the 14th August Family Mela was a joyful celebration of Pakistan’s independence, highlighting unity, creativity, and international friendship. The event successfully brought together families and communities, making it a memorable day for all who attended.
