Lahore: YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa, who went missing on August 15, has been safely reunited with his family. His lawyers confirmed his return on Monday, following a Lahore High Court order requiring his recovery by August 20.
The case gained attention after Khosa’s wife, Binish Iqbal, filed a petition alleging her husband was being unlawfully detained. Iqbal reported that masked, armed men had broken into their apartment and seized his phones and computer.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) expressed alarm, suggesting that the abduction might be linked to Khosa’s work as a satirist.
Late Monday, Khosa’s lawyer Khadija Siddiqi shared the news on X, saying: “Alhamdulillah, Aun Ali Khosa is home safely!” Another lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, confirmed Khosa’s safe return and praised Siddiqi for her efforts.
Siddiqi also criticized the troubling pattern of such abductions, calling for accountability and expressing hope that these practices will end. She urged that those responsible should face legal consequences.
