The disruption began around 12pm, when internet monitoring service NetBlocks reported widespread international issues on the platform, clarifying that the problem was not caused by country-specific internet restrictions or filtering.
Data from Downdetector indicated a surge in complaints from users in Pakistan shortly after midday, with reports peaking at 189. About half of these users reported issues with the platform’s timeline, while others faced difficulties accessing the app. By 12:45pm, complaints from Pakistan dropped sharply to just two, showing that services had largely been restored.
A similar pattern was observed in the United States, where user complaints initially spiked to nearly 31,700 before falling below 200 as service returned to normal.
This outage comes just days after the platform, owned by Elon Musk, experienced another brief global disruption on March 18, affecting thousands of users worldwide.
The incidents highlight ongoing technical challenges for the platform as it continues to serve a massive international user base, emphasizing the importance of stability and reliability in social media operations.
