ANKARA- There is talk on social media these days of a mysterious grave in the middle of a road in the town of Cherkisla in the Turkish province of Sivas. This tomb has been built here for many years but no one knows whose tomb it is.
After “Bismillah-ur-Rehman-ur-Rehman” under “Hwalbaqi” on the tombstone, “Greban Shaheed Baba” is written in Turkish but still no one knows who is buried here.
All that is known to the people here is that this tomb is very old and dates back to before the reconstruction of the town of Shirkeshla.
Some believe that a martyr is buried in this tomb, while others say that it was the shrine of a religious scholar whose only tomb remains today.
Why is this tomb right in the middle of the road? Older locals say the tomb was part of a private house before the town of Shirkeshla was rebuilt.
The house was demolished under a new town map, and government officials began thinking about relocating the tomb, but workers here began to have strange dreams.
In the dream, the tomb addressed the workers and asked them to let him stay here. As a result, the tomb was abandoned, deciding to walk down the street.
It is said that an old man came to the former owner of the house where the tomb was located and told him in a dream that many years ago this tomb was the holy shrine of a martyr and no attempt should be made to tear it down.
Later another man bought the house but he was told the same thing by an unknown elder in a dream and he also refrained from breaking the tomb.
Today, the people of Shirkeshla recite Fatiha and lay flowers at this mysterious grave because they believe that whoever is buried in this tomb is definitely a chosen person.
