US President Joe Biden has confirmed that Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in a US drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan.
After the news of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s death came out, US President Joe Biden said that clear and convincing evidence allowed the attack and brought the terrorist to an end.
The American president says that the intelligence agencies discovered the presence of Ayman al-Zawahiri this year, who was also involved in the planning of the 9/11 attack.
Joe Biden added that he will defend America at all costs and pursue his enemies everywhere. Ayman al-Zawahiri has released videos attacking the US and its allies in recent weeks.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the American attack and called it a violation of international norms.
According to foreign media, the US had announced a reward of two and a half million dollars for the information about Al-Zawahiri. This is the first operation after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was carried out on the occasion of the completion of one year of the withdrawal.
It should be noted that Osama bin Laden was targeted by the US in Pakistan, after which Ayman al-Zawahiri took over the command of Al-Qaeda.
