In continuation of ensuring compliance on Tobacco Control laws and to make District East Karachi a Model Tobacco Smoke Free District, Umamah Solangi Additional Deputy Commissioner East /Head Tobacco Control Cell Office of The Deputy Commissioner Karachi East has inaugurated Tobacco Smoke Free Hotel, Restaurants Campaign from University Road Gulshan e Iqbal Food Street along with the officials of Sindh Food Authority.
The officials of Sindh Food Authority who participated in the Tobacco Smoke Free Food Outlets Campaign were Mahboob Ali Bhatti
Food safety Officer/ Team Incharge of District East, Eraj Khursheed Food safety Officer, Assistants Saddam Hussain Dhakan, Sohail and Sharjeel.
While inaugurating the smoke free Hotel, Restaurants campaign Umamah Solangi along with District Coordinator Tobacco Control Cell Karachi East and Sindh Food Authority team asked Hotel, Restaurants managers to do not allow anyone to smoke inside the premises and also told them to ensure fixing of No Smoking signage at entrance and inside the premises.
She also informed Restaurant Managers that strict action would be taken by the district administration East in case of Tobacco Control laws violation as it is the matter of human health.
Further She stated that On the directives of Deputy Commissioner East the administration is ensuring compliance on Tobacco Control laws and also doing awareness raising among masses to save future generations from the deadly impacts of tobacco use.
However on the instructions of Masood Bhutto Deputy Director Sindh Food Authority District East Mehboob Ali Team Incharge assured for the support of Sindh Food Authority in ensuring compliance of tobacco control laws at Hotel, Restaurants in District East.
