WASHINGTON D.C.-The terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate on Friday 23rd November 2018 morning in Karachi, left two police men martyred in battling with the terrorists to stop them from entering the Chinese consulate premises. Same day, a deadly attack in a public bazaar in Orakzai, killed many people and left several injured.
The United States condemned in the “strongest terms” the attack on the Chinese Consulate and Orakzai which killed over 30 people and injured many people.
The statement released by U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert on 23rd November 2018 said “we send our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured” in both the attacks on Chinese Consulate and Orakzai.
U.S. State Department lauded the “commendable brave response by the Pakistani security forces to the attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi which prevented further loss of life.”
The press statement elaborated that the United States stands with the Pakistani people in the face of these terrorist acts and will continue to seek opportunities to cooperate with the Pakistani government to combat these threats in the region.
