Karachi (Staff Reporter) Kafeel Hussain, President of KHA Business and International Relations and CEO of the Kafeel Hussain Group, highlighted the continuous strengthening of trade and investment relations between the United States and Pakistan during a recent event. He congratulated U.S. President Joseph R. Biden and U.S. Consul General in Pakistan, Conrad Tribble, on the occasion of U.S. Independence Day.
Hussain emphasized the longstanding excellent diplomatic relations between the two nations since the establishment of Pakistan. They have collaborated on various issues such as energy, trade and investment, health, clean energy, climate change, and counterterrorism.
He pointed out that the U.S. is a major source of direct foreign investment in Pakistan and the largest export market for the country. Pakistan has been a key partner in expanding educational opportunities through the Fulbright program for over 70 years, with support from both countries.
Hussain mentioned that Pakistan, the fifth most populous country globally, was ranked as the 44th largest economy by the IMF in 2022. The U.S. has been a significant investor in Pakistan for the past two decades and is working towards enhancing trade relations with the involvement of high-ranking officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce, State Department, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
He highlighted the extensive investment opportunities in Pakistan, along with incentives and facilities for foreign investors. Additionally, expos are being organized to educate businesses interested in investing in Pakistan, which will contribute to the stabilization of the economy.
