COLOMBIA : Cano Cristales is a Colombian river known as the River of Five Colors. This river is located in a remote area of the Sierra de la Macarena National Park in Colombia. Its unique colors come from a native aquatic plant, Macarenia clavigera. This plant combines with the yellow sand, green, blue water, and black rocks to create an incredible scene. The red and pink colors come from the full bloom of the Macarenia clavigera, while the yellow color is created by the sand visible in the clear water. Algae and moss growing on the rocks give the river a green color, and the deep pools reflect the sky, giving it a blue color. The volcanic rocks above the river also give it a black color, making this natural landscape extremely magical and charming.
