DUBAI: The most expensive auction of special number plates for luxury vehicles was held in Dubai. According to Arab media reports, the number plates were auctioned for a total of 109 million dirhams (more than 8.31 billion Pakistani rupees). This was the 120th open number plate auction of Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority, in which the most expensive number plate was sold for 9.66 million dirhams, or approximately 740 million Pakistani rupees, while the second-most expensive number plate was sold for more than 8 million dirhams, or approximately 610 million Pakistani rupees. One number plate was sold for 6.74 million dirhams, or approximately 510 million in Pakistani rupees, while another number plate was auctioned for approximately 330 million in Pakistani rupees. According to media reports, 90 special number plates, consisting of two to five digits, were offered for auction in the auction, which is being described as the largest number plate auction ever.
