Karachi – The Kind of Nature a Group Show by artists Faheem Abbas, Fawad Jafri, Haider Ali Naqvi, Hamid Ali Hanbhi, Muhammad Muzammil Khan, Niamat Nigar and Yaseen Khan opens at Canvas Gallery on Friday July 14th from 4 pm – 7 pm. The show highlights each artist’s unique response to the environment of today, be it natural or man-made, constructed or demolished, ancient or new.
The artists’ have presented the idea of Environment with great sensitivity and with the use of their personal stories. The contemporary works showcase a variety of mediums that the artists have been familiar with, while also being experimental with the narrative that aims to make the viewers ponder upon the ecosystem existing around us through the nuance and complexity carefully blended in each artwork. The incorporation of different materials used by the artists range from concrete, acrylics, oil paint to stitching on jute and muslin along with the use of gouache on wasli. The versatility of the works bring together the unique story of each artist within the context of Environment.
The show remains open daily until Thursday July 27th 2023, from 11 am – 6 pm (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays).
