Karachi, 5th November 2025 — The 4th European Film Festival (EUFF) 2025 returns to Pakistan this November, bringing together audiences in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore for a celebration of European cinema, creativity, and cultural exchange.

Hosted by the Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan and curated by Olomopolo Media, the festival highlights the power of cinema to connect communities and inspire reflection on shared human experiences. The event will showcase 19 features and 10 shorts produced by Member States of the European Union, covering a diverse range of genres including comedy, thrillers, documentaries, and fiction. These films explore themes such as family, childhood, romance, friendship, climate change, history, war, economic hardship, human rights, and more.

The festival opens in Islamabad on 7th November from 4pm to 9 pm and 8th November from 11 am to 9 pm at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA). The two-day event will feature a mix of films, shorts, and interactive experiences designed to engage audiences of all ages. Screenings include Behind the Curtain of High Mountains (Czech Republic), Without Air (Hungary), That They May Face the Rising Sun (Ireland), The Olive Tree (Spain), and short films, HAB?, White Ribbons, Diamond & Narcissus (Austria) and A Sea of Trash (Portugal) presented in collaboration with EU Member States. Families and young audiences will enjoy Itty Bitty Princess (Finland) and My Dad is a Sausage (Belgium), adding a lighter, heartwarming touch to the lineup. Day One in Islamabad will conclude with a social dance, while Day Two will close with a dramatic reading, bringing the city’s leg of the festival to a close on an artistic note. A Filmmakers Mixer will also be hosted in Islamabad, offering space for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

The festival then travels to Karachi on 15th November from 5 pm to 10 pm and 16th November from 11 am to 9 pm at the Karachi Film School, where European creativity meets the city’s dynamic spirit. Film screenings will take place on both days. Day One will end with a dramatic reading, and Day Two will wrap up with a social dance attended by cultural enthusiasts, local filmmakers, and students. Karachi will also host a Filmmakers Mixer, further encouraging exchange between emerging and established voices in the industry.

The final act unfolds in Lahore on 22nd November from 4 pm to 9 pm and 23rd November from 11 am to 9 pm at the Alhamra Arts Council, where the festival will culminate with screenings, interactive installations, and live performances. Events will span across Hall 3, the Adabi Baithak, and the open-air courtyard. The closing weekend promises a rich cultural experience, from a dramatic reading on Day One to the signature social dance on Day Two, echoing Lahore’s deep-rooted love for art and storytelling.

Across all three cities, audiences will step into a space that goes beyond cinema. The festival will feature immersive experiences such as the “Wall of Fame” presenting a century of European cinema told through twenty-four remarkable voices, interactive installations, such as the Auteur Ego, Human Slot Game and 360° camera, inviting playful engagement, while dedicated spaces like the Reading Nook and Kids’ Corner offer moments to pause, imagine, and explore. Photobooths and curated food kiosks add to the lively atmosphere, transforming each venue into a shared creative playground where audiences don’t just watch films: they step into their world.

Free and open to the public, EUFF 2025 welcomes families, students, local artists, diplomats, and film enthusiasts to experience cinema as a tool of connection and conversation. The event is supported by FM91 (Radio Partner), HUM TV & HUM NEWS (Media Partner), along with Pakistan Film Society, Digital Development Lab, Kitab Ghar, Suno Kahani Meri Zubani, Bethak, Tasweer Ghar, Chalti Tasveerain, Institute of Business Management’s Film Society, Salim Habib University’s Marketing & Media Society and venue collaborators: Karachi Film School and Alhamra Arts Council.

The 4th European Film Festival (EUFF) 2025 is curated and organized by Olomopolo Media, a leading platform for cultural and creative expression through performing arts and visual media as tools for social advocacy and awareness with the aim to create room for collective ethical development and socio-cultural sophistication.
