Houston (Our Special Correspondent): Syed Javaid Anwar (Hilal-e-Imtiaz) & Community Organizations including APPNA South Texas Chapter, Houston Karachi Sister City Association, His Highness the Aga Khan Council for Southwestern United States, Pakistani American Council of Texas & Pakistan Chamber of Commerce-USA hosted a Grand Farewell Dinner Reception Honoring Consul General Abrar H. Hashmi of Pakistan at a local hotel in Houston, Texas, USA.
During the event, the Pride of Performance Award was given to Honorable Consul General of Pakistan Abrar Hashmi by Syed Javaid Anwar and Presidents of all the Collaborating Organizations.
Prominent attorney Omar Khawaja was the emcee of the event.
Large number of community leaders, Including Consul Generals of UAE, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and dignitaries also attended the farewell event.
While paying rich tribute to Abrar Hashmi for his commendable services, Chief Host Syed Javaid Anwar said that he is a great admirer of Hashmi because of the services he has rendered to the community.
On this occasion Consul General Hashmi up lauded the achievements of the Pakistani community in Houston, saying that each immigrant has pulled themselves out of comfort and that’s the reason they are very successful.

Sajjad Burki, Amir Piprani, & prominent community leaders including M. J. Khan, Dr. Ashraf Abbasi Haroon Sheikh recalled the history of great community services, and the untiring efforts by Consul General Abrar Hashmi to serve the community & society at large in a most befitting manner.
Since Abrar Hashmi Sahab is going to become Ambassador of Pakistan in Nepal, everyone said in respect His Excellency Abrar Hashmi.
The whole community has highly appreciated Abrar Hashmi Sahab’s three years tenure in Houston, emphasizing his role in elevating the cooperation between Houston and Pakistan to new heights and exercising leadership in strengthening the partnership with the community, and bridging it with the motherland & homeland.
Presentation of flower bouquet to the wife of Honorable Abrar Hashmi was done by the spouse of Consul General of Indonesia. Prominent Community leaders including prominent Attorney & US Presidential appointee Nomi Husain, Atif Khan, Steve Payne, Tariq Majeed from Austin Pakistani Association, Dr. Asaf Qadeer, Dr. Yakoob Sheikh, Khaled Khan & Shah Haleem of Bangladesh Community, Posso Ganame from West African Chamber, Mehnaz Zaidi (PAGH) and Community media officials were in attendance.
On this occasion, special Congressional Recognition was accorded from the Office of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, together with giving the esteemed honor of a U.S. Flag which was flown over to the State Capital to honor Consul General Abrar Hashmi services.
