Karachi : Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi visited the Sabzi Mandi and chaired a meeting in the office of Market Commttee to review the system of fixation of prices of vegetables and fruits
The Deputy Commissioner East Shehzad Fazal Abbasi briefed the Commissioner on the working of Market committee highlighting.
the system of fixation of prices and the importance of the auction system.
The Chairman of the Market Committee, Ali Zeman, informed the meeting about the issues relating to Market Committee management affairs. Commissioner Naqvi emphasized the need to improve the auction system and make it transparent .
He emphasized to follow the rules of auction strictly .
Additional Deputy Commissioner Central Sara khan who were assigned a special job to monitor auction system and working of price fixation system at Sabzi Mandi briefed the commissioner in details .
She highlighted that many traders’ trucks wait outside the market until the auction is completed, affecting auction process.
The meeting decided that the traders must participate in auctions at designated times. It was further decided that Market Committee will take legal action against non-compliant traders. Commissioner asked all stake holders to make all efforts with close coordination and cooperation
