Karachi March 2 : Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi chaired a daily review meeting on Monday at his office. He directed Deputy Commissioners and assistant commissioners to take strict action against profiteers ensuring prices are controlled to provide citizens get relief during holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was attended among others by Additional Commissioner I Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Additional Commissioner II Asadullah Khoso, Deputy Commissioner Keamari Amir Fazal Kho
so, Assistant Commissioner HQ Rabia Syed, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Sajjad Abro, and Assistant Commissioner General Waqas Abbasi.

Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners presented their district and sub-division performance reports. The Commissioner Karachi office monitoring team reviewed implementation of official rates and reported on visits to complaint centers and supermarkets under the “Commissioner Ramadan Wintry” initiative.
Commissioner Karachi office released a report on actions against overpricing shopkeepers. On the 12th Ramadan, 211 shopkeepers were fined, with total fines of Rs. 1,454,500. One shop was sealed. Prices were checked at 1,066 locations, and on-spot action was taken at 225 locations.

According to details released by the Commissioner Karachi office, on the 12th Ramadan, items worth Rs. 570,416 were sold at 225 locations, including:
– 1,777 kg fruits worth Rs. 356,350
– 655 kg vegetables worth Rs. 24,491
– 170 kg meat and poultry worth Rs. 157,435
– 194 kg groceries worth Rs. 32,140
