ISLAMABAD, May: Once again perfect alignment was observed with respect to the sun at Grand Mosque Makkah on Monday at 14:18 PST and at 12:18 Saudi.
Twice within a year at Kaaba, the disk of the Sun was able to go beyond the plane and therefore the Kaaba did not cast any shadow at all for a short period, a phenomenon which is well stated in the bible as zero shadow.
These claims have been made by some of the private front line news channels who argue that this is possible following the fact that the Grand Mosque is located at the latitude between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer.
It has been postulated that the tilt of the earth can be held accountable for the motion of the sun since it produces light at 23. And from 5 degrees above and below the celestial equator; and in this region, the sun is directly overhead of those areas which are situated on top of the globe during the height of summer.
An astronomer once said, “Arabs can find the middle of Kaaba – placing a wooden stick if the shadow of the stick is on the horizontal plane in front of the stick, you are facing Qibla.”
It is indeed a great event for any Muslim around the world that have ties with the Kaaba which is regarded as a holy shrine of the Islamic faith and the direction of prayer that one faces for prayer, the Qibla.
It gave me a feeling of how beautiful the universe is and how nature has designed the natural world to complement the divinity that is in us and around us, where the sun is facing the holy Kaba.
