Sukkur: Independence Day was celebrated on 14th August at Sukkur IBA University, with national pride and collective enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of this significant day.
Sukkur IBA University, takes immense pride in celebrating Independence Day with zeal each year, and this year was no exception. The celebrations began with the arrival of faculty, staff, and their families at the main campus of Sukkur IBA University. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and national pride as the faculty and staff came together under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh to celebrate this important day.
The event began with recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a deep tone for the proceedings. At the start, Pro Vice Chancellor of the Main Campus, Professor Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and Sukkur IBA University’s role in promoting patriotism. A student representative also spoke and highlighted the themes of unity and national progress.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, concluded the speeches with a heartfelt address, reflecting on the sacrifices of our forefathers and the collective responsibility to drive our nation’s advancement. His words resonated deeply with all present.
The Vice Chancellor, in his address, highlighted that this Independence Day is particularly joyous as it coincides with the remarkable achievement of our Pakistani athlete, Arshad Nadeem, who has won a gold medal in the Olympics for the country after four decades. His victory serves as an inspiring lesson for our youth.
Vice Chancellor also highlighted Sukkur IBA University’s recent achievement of AACSB Accreditation, a significant milestone that underscores the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff.
Vice Chancellor conveyed a hopeful message to the youth, stressing that building a soft image for our country is attainable through education. Sukkur IBA University, through initiatives like NTHP, STHP, and various scholarships, remains committed to preparing skilled and educated youth to contribute meaningfully to our nation’s progress.
The highlight of the celebration was the flag-hoisting ceremony performed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, with Pro Vice Chancellor, Directors, Head of the departments, faculty and staff joining in. Faculty also observed a moment of unity through the recitation of Dua and the National Anthem, followed by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony.
