UPPER CHITRAL: A student of 10th class died after falling into the river due to the collapse of a wooden old bridge while returning from school in Yarkhun Lasht area of Upper Chitral district. According to details, Nadeem Ahmed, son of Zar Mohammad resident of Rokut Yarkhun died while returning home from school after falling into the Yarkhun river due to the collapse of the local made wooden bridge. Two other students also fell in river with him and were rescued by the local people on the spot. The deceased was a 10th class student of Government High School Yarkhun Lasht. It is worth to mention here that the condition of roads and bridges throughout Chitral and especially in upper areas is very bad which causing of major accidents every year and many precious lives have been lost in these mishaps.
Chitral Development Moment, a volunteer organization working in Chitral, has been struggling for the past few years to build and improve conditions of roads and bridges in both districts of Chitral and they working on volunteer basis, as people have become disappointed from the government institutions and elected representatives who have failed to do their duty but they Can’t handle it. A few months ago, some people were died due to the collapse of a bridge in Torkho Mulkho Tehsil of Chitral, similarly nine people were lost their lives due to the collapse of a bridge in Yarkhun Valley. Roads and bridges in upper areas are in very poor and depilated condition and often causing of such fetal accidents in which many people have lost their lives.
