Karachi : The Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd., in its franchise areas of Sindh and Balochistan have been carrying out surveys and conducting raids in theft infested colonies. In Balochistan alone, the Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations team, in coordination with Customer Relations Department (CRD) and Recovery department teams, have recently disconnected 662 illegal gas connections throughout the province of Balochistan.
It should be noted that gas was being stolen via underground and overhead clamps, that has been installed at multiple points across the main distribution line. All equipment used for stealing gas was removed on the spot, and appropriate claims will be raised against the stolen gas.
Natural gas is a limited resource that is depleting at 10% per annum. With this valuable resource quickly becoming scarce, the Company urges its esteemed customers to come forward and report incidences of gas theft. Customers can inform the Company via SSGC’s official helpline 1199, or reporting gas theft via SSGC’s social media handles, SSGC’s App by the name of SSGC Customer Connect, or by visiting any of the CFCs.
