The statement of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on the horrific and brutal incident that took place in Sialkot.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said in a statement that he was “deeply shocked” to see Priyantha Diyawadana being brutally beaten by an extremist mob in Pakistan.
“My heart goes out to his wife and Priyantha’s family. I hope Prime Minister Imran Khan will fulfill his promise to bring all those involved to justice,” he said.
On 3rd December Friday, A Sri Lankan national, working as a manager at a private factory on Wazirabad Road in Sialkot, was tortured to death by a mob over allegations of blasphemy.
An angry group of protesters claim that the victim had allegedly hurt religious sentiments. The Group of Angry people also vandalized the factory and blocked traffic, according to the police. Upon receiving a report of the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and tried to control the situation.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a statement on Twitter “I am extremely shocked at the horrific Sialkot incident. He ordered an inquiry into the incident and demanded a report from the Inspector General of Police.”
Usman Buzdar said that “No one is allowed to take law in their hands. Rest assured, individuals involved in this inhumane act will not be spared!!”
