Karachi : Special children amazed the audience with their performances at a local hotel in Karachi organized by the Darul Sukoon institution in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Ali, a special child residing in Darul Sukoon, along with his companions, presented a dance performance on Sufi poetry, while two visually impaired girls sang beautifully. The event, held on November 30th, Thursday, in honor of the Global Day of Persons with Disabilities under the management of Darul Sukoon, was attended by the Sindh Minister for Law, Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr, Omar Soomro, as a special guest. Omar Soomro, addressing the ceremony, praised the services of Darul Sukoon for the care of disabled children and elderly individuals, emphasizing that their work is beyond commendation. He acknowledged the institution’s efforts in not only providing support but also reintegrating many disabled children back into mainstream life.

He mentioned numerous children who were brought to Darul Sukoon by their families due to various disabilities but were supported, cared for, and eventually helped to return to normal life by the institution. The CEO of Darul Sukoon, Sister Gertrude Lemmens, in her address, mentioned that more than 700 children, elderly individuals, and women are currently under the institution’s care, including several children who receive continuous care and would not have been possible without the generous contributions from individuals providing continuous support to the wards under Darul Sukoon. At this occasion, mementos and shields were also distributed among the contributors.
