Sleeping after 11pm: Experts sound the alarm.

In the modern lifestyle, the indiscriminate use of mobile phones and screens has badly affected people’s sleep habits. Sleeping after 11 pm at night has a bad effect on health. Health experts warn that if you regularly sleep after 11 pm, this habit can cause diabetes, heart disease and other physical and mental problems in the future. According to experts, getting at least 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep per day is essential for a healthy life. During sleep, the body and brain repair themselves, the process of eliminating toxins improves, and hormones remain balanced. Insufficient or substandard sleep leads to daytime lethargy, irritability, and poor concentration. According to the British Heart Foundation, it is considered best to sleep between 10 and 11 pm to maintain heart health. Experts say that sleeping after 11 pm affects the body clock (circadian rhythm), which can negatively affect blood pressure, sugar levels and heart rate. In the long term, this habit can increase the risk of heart disease. According to medical experts, people who sleep late usually eat unhealthy snacks late at night, which can lead to weight gain. The metabolism slows down and digestion can be impaired. As a result, energy levels decrease and fatigue increases. Staying up late at night does not give the brain a chance to fully rest. This can increase stress, anxiety, and mood swings. Lack of attention and decreased performance in students and working professionals can also be a result of this. Continuous lack of sleep can weaken the immune system, which increases the risk of colds, flu, and other diseases. Experts recommend limiting the use of mobile and other screens at least an hour before bedtime and setting a regular bedtime and wake-up time. Health experts have advised taking precautions, saying that you should adopt the habit of going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, avoid caffeine and heavy meals before bed, reduce screen time, and keep the sleeping environment calm and dark. Experts say that a little caution can protect you from major future illnesses.
