KARACHI: President SITE Association of Industry Riaz Uddin, has condemned the incident of firing on the car of the renowned industrialist & senior member of SITE Association of Industry Mr. Muhammad Lakhany on the afternoon of 1-2-2023.
Riaz Uddin appealed the heads of Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) particularly the Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers Sindh and AIG Police Karachi to take emergent notice of the incident and ensure fool proof security of the lives & properties of business community.
The business community is deeply concerned over the recent manifold increase in the crime in SITE area which has duly been pointed out to the heads of LEAs in recent meetings.
Riaz Uddin said in the statement that the worsening economic situation which is directly impacting the law & order situation in the country in general and SITE area in particular, apart from other drivers of crimes notably social, political & economic.
The President of SITE Association of Industry raised the question as to how economic and industrial activities would continue under such difficult economic and law & order situation.
He has further demanded that the safe city project, which has remained in doldrums since long, was a very vital project required for securing Karachi, hence this crucial project must be implemented on an urgent basis to completely protect Karachi from such unpleasant incidents in future whereas security measures, particularly in the industrial areas of Karachi, have to be fortified as these areas, nowadays, have become more prone to law and order incidents.
