KARACHI – SITE Association of Industry and SSGC have agreed in principle to form a Working Group. The very purpose of the Working Group is to get detailed awareness about the gas-related issues, being faced by the industries of SITE area which is the oldest & largest industrial zone of Pakistan. The Working Group will also suggest measures to resolve such issues on a permanent basis.
SSGC Managing Director Imran Maniar, on the occasion of his visit to SITE Association of Industry, has assured the industrialists of SITE area of full support and cooperation in continuing industrial production without interruption. Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala, President Abdul Hadi, Riaz uddin, SVP, Abdul Kadir Bilawani, VP, Ex-Presidents Jawed Bilwani, Saleem Parekh and Younus Bashir and DMD of SSGC Saeed Ahmed Larik and other high officials were also present on this occasion.
Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala, President Abdul Hadi, Ex-Presidents Jawed Bilwani, Saleem Parekh and Younus Bashir drew attention of MD SSGC towards complaints of zero pressure in SITE area and stated that to continue industrial production, industries need gas with required pressure which, unfortunately, is not being provided to SITE industries which is a big hurdle in industrial production.
“The Advisors of the Prime Minister had assured in meetings that unless industries are provided with required electricity load, their gas connection shall not be disconnected. However, contrary to it, the gas connections of a number of industries of SITE area have been disconnected which has badly effected industrial production. As such, the disconnected connections should be restored immediately and gas should be provided with required pressure so as to ensure timely shipments of export orders”, they pointed out.
MD SSGC Imran Maniar has assured the industrialists to resolve their issues on top priority basis. He said that he is well aware of the problems being faced by the industrial community. He also stressed the need to reduce line losses and extend cooperation to SSGC. In the meeting, it was decided to form a Working Group which will meet on monthly basis to discuss, analysis and suggest measures for resolution of gas related issues with mutual consent.
