Sindh Police Sports Board: IGP Javaid Alam Odho Unveils New Initiative to Promote Youth and Community Sports
Senior police officials and private sector representatives join the newly formed board to strengthen sports development and community engagement across Sindh.

IGP Sindh chairs the inaugural meeting of the Sindh Police Sports Board in Karachi.
The Sindh Police Sports Board has been formally established following a high-level meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Javaid Alam Odho, aimed at promoting sports, youth engagement and healthier communities across the province.
The meeting, held at the IGP Office in Karachi, brought together senior police officials and representatives from the private sector to discuss the board’s vision, strategic objectives and long-term roadmap. Participants focused on strengthening collaboration between law enforcement and industry leaders to expand sports opportunities and encourage positive youth participation.

During the meeting, IGP Javaid Alam Odho announced the appointment of DIG Traffic Sindh, Pir Mohammad Shah, as Chairman of the Sindh Police Sports Board.
The board also includes Zahid Hameed, Chief Executive Officer of Apparel Zone; Dr Danish Aman, Chairman of PTA SZ; Syed Hussain Sajjad, Chief Operating Officer of Telec Group; and Taimur Siddique, Director of Shahi Group. The members will contribute their professional expertise to support sports development, youth empowerment and community initiatives across Sindh.
Officials said the newly formed board aims to create stronger partnerships between public institutions and the private sector to encourage healthy lifestyles, identify sporting talent and increase community participation through organised sporting activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Zahid Hameed presented a handcrafted calligraphy frame to IGP Javaid Alam Odho as a gesture of appreciation and respect.
The establishment of the Sindh Police Sports Board reflects the Sindh Police’s broader commitment to encouraging youth engagement, promoting sportsmanship and strengthening ties with local communities through constructive initiatives.
