KARACHI: Sindh’s Inspector General of Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, chaired a high-level meeting to review the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS), ARY News reported on Wednesday.
During the session, the Sindh IG stressed the importance of fully digitalizing police station records across the province, ensuring that legal proceedings and case histories are accurately maintained and easily accessible.
He directed that cases involving suspects detained without identification cards should be registered under the Foreign Act, adding that the complete record of police actions, cases, and investigations must be documented online for transparency and accountability.
The IG further emphasized that FIRs, investigations, and case progress updates must be seamlessly incorporated into the PSRMS, with the Crime and Investigations department responsible for overseeing the recording, monitoring, and updating processes.
He called for a professional and precise approach to record management to ensure data accuracy and reliability across all police stations in Sindh.
