He added that the only practical way to achieve a tax-to-GDP ratio of 15 percent in the next 5 years is to add 1.5 to 2 million new taxpayers to the tax net. He said that tax and FBR reforms should not be done without consulting the business community; Because such attempts in the past have failed completely many times. On this occasion, PBF Chairman South Punjab Malik Talat Sohail said that taxes have broken the back of the people and the business community, the growth rate of Pakistan’s economy is expected to be only 2.1% in the current financial year. Inflation is expected to trend downward in the coming months. Therefore, it has become imperative to reduce the key policy rate as soon as possible and Pakistani exporters should be supplied at a competitive rate compared to regional countries. President PBF Multan Saleha Hassan urged the opposition parties to play a positive role in the parliament so that the country can move forward to achieve the goal of economic stability in an efficient manner.
