The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) is pleased to share its Newsletter (January – September 2024), which provides a comprehensive overview of our ongoing efforts, initiatives, and interventions to uphold and protect human rights across Sindh.
As a statutory body established under the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Act, 2011, SHRC remains committed to protecting and promoting human rights in the province. Through policy advocacy, capacity-building programs, and direct interventions, the Commission has actively worked to strengthen human rights mechanisms, address key challenges, and create meaningful impact. This newsletter serves as a reflection of our collective commitment to justice, equality, and human dignity.
This publication highlights our advocacy and awareness campaigns aimed at promoting human rights education through public sessions and policy dialogues. It also showcases our training and capacity-building sessions, which empower government officials, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and community representatives on human rights laws and best practices. In addition, the newsletter covers our workshops and consultations, which bring together key stakeholders to discuss pressing human rights issues and develop strategic solutions.
The Commission has also conducted monitoring visits and fact-finding missions to ensure compliance with human rights standards by inspecting detention centers, shelters, and other relevant institutions. Our special initiatives focus on supporting vulnerable groups, including women, children, transgender individuals, minorities, and persons with different abilities. Moreover, the newsletter highlights our strategic collaborations and partnerships with government departments, civil society organizations, and national/international partners to further strengthen human rights promotion and protection.
We deeply appreciate your continuous support and engagement in advancing human rights in Sindh. Your feedback, insights, and collaboration are essential to this mission. We look forward to your thoughts and suggestions and welcome any opportunities for further partnership. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to explore avenues for future collaboration.
