Islamabad: Shehbaz Sharif reviews IT Park’s progress, and vows to complete the project by this year. When he visited the site where the construction was in progress, he said that the work was going on uninterrupted round the clock. The IT Park worth Rs. 25 billion was established with a $70 million soft loan from South Korea and the construction contract was given to a Korean firm in 2022.
Speaking more on construction quality, Prime Minister Sharif stated that the IT Park would house 120 offices of IT-enabled companies as well as employ 10,000 youths. Moreover, the facility will consist of an incubation center for start-ups, office and retail space, and leisure facilities.
He highlighted that the park needs to have strong connections with universities noting that efforts should be made to establish IT laboratories to encourage innovation among the youth. The project involves the setting up of 250 e-rozgaar centers across the country and also involves the development of a level three data center.
The Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif, announced expansion of IT parks at federal and provincial levels and anticipated millions of youths to benefit from this. He stated that in the budget Rs. 80 billion has been provided for the IT sector’s growth.
In the tour, the Prime Minister was given a detailed report on construction works and was informed that the IT Park covers an area of 14. undefined It will go a long way in improving the IT sector in Pakistan, encouraging innovations, and creating employment in the growing field.
The increased construction activities demonstrate the government’s interest in enhancing technology and promoting more IT-led growth. Being Pakistan’s first hi-tech IT Park, the stakeholders are eager to expect various changes in the national economy and going digital.
