Lahore: Funeral prayer of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz will be offered in Lahore at five p.m. on Friday.
According to a PML-N Spokesperson, the funeral prayer will be offered at Sharif Medical City at Jati Umra in Lahore, while Qul Khawni will be held on Sunday between Asar and Maghrib prayers.
Shahbaz Sharif has gone to London to bring back the body of Kulsoom Nawaz for burial in Pakistan.
Begum Kalsoom Nawaz, who was the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and sister in law of Shahbaz Sharif, died of cancer in London yesterday. She had been under treatment at London’s Harley Clinic for a year. Her funeral prayer will also be offered at Regents Plaza Park in London at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow after which her body will be flown to Pakistan.
PIA flight PK-758 carrying body of Kulsoom Nawaz will leave for Lahore from London’s Heathrow Airport at 10:00 p.m. tomorrow and land at the Allama Iqbal International Airport at 6:00 a.m. on Friday.
Earlier, accepting Shahbaz Sharif’s application, the Punjab government released members of the Sharif family, namely Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and son-in-law captain retired Muhammad Safdar from Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on parole.
The government facilitated the Sharif family members so that they can take part in funeral and burial of the deceased.
The government declared Sharif family residence at Jati Umra in Lahore sub-jail after the parole granted to Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and retired Captain Safdar was extended by three days, which was earlier limited to 12 hours.
PML-N leaders, political leaders, and people of all segments of society are visiting Sharif family’s residence at Jati Umra in Lahore to commiserate over the sad demise of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz.
Hamza Shahbaz is receiving the visitors, while Nawaz Sharif is not meeting people at the moment due to immense sentiments of sadness.
Speaking on the occasion, Hamza Shahbaz said it seems that he has lost his mother as Kasloom Nawaz was like her mother.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to observe three day official mourning to pay tributes to ex-first lady Kalsoom Nawaz.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of the AJK Cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday.
The cabinet adopted a unanimous resolution paying rich tributes to the services of late Kasoom Nawaz for democracy and opposing dictatorship.
The AJK Cabinet also paid rich tributes to Founder of the nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his untiring struggle to get a separate homeland for the Muslims of Sub-Continent.
