According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, a police force is present at the scene, but it has not yet been confirmed how many people were killed and injured in the incident.
All roads leading to the shooting site have been closed and only ambulances and fire brigade vehicles are going there.
Copenhagen Mayor Sophie Anderson wrote on Twitter that authorities were not sure how many people had been injured in the attack, but said it was “very serious.”
According to an eyewitness, after the firing, chaos spread there and people started fleeing for their lives. Police have claimed to have arrested a suspect but did not give further details.
Fields is Denmark’s largest shopping center with over 140 shops and restaurants.
