Houston, TX USA : SCINOSA (Society for Children In Need of Special Assistance), Pakistan’s premier institute catering to children with Down Syndrome and intellectual disabilities, recently hosted its first event here to create awareness about the phenomenal work being done by the organization since 1960. Distinguished attendees included artist/philanthropist Jimmy Engineer, president TCF USA Arif Gafur, and president Pakistan Business Association Dr Jawed Ashraf.

The Awareness Brunch was a sold-out success, drawing an enthusiastic audience of community leaders, philanthropists, and advocates who came together to support SCINOSA’s mission of creating brighter futures for children with special needs.
Guests were briefed on SCINOSA’s rich history, its pioneering role in Pakistan, and the wide range of therapeutic, educational, and vocational services it provides. Products made by SCINOSA’s talented students were also showcased, offering a glimpse into their creativity and skill development.

Speaking on the occasion, SCINOSA trustee, Rahat Khan said, “While we have had many individual donors supporting us from around the world for decades now, this is the first time we have actually held a formal event to introduce SCINOSA to those who may not have heard of us till recently. For me, this has been a dream come true, for it marks the beginning of spreading our wings formally internationally, now. We’re grateful to everyone who helped tirelessly to make this event possible.”

The event celebrated community spirit, generosity, and a collective vision of breaking barriers for children with intellectual challenges — reminding everyone that empowerment knows no borders.
