SABS UNIVERSITY JAMSHORO REMOVES DEPUTY DIRECTOR FINANCE FROM SERVICE ON CHARGES OF HARASSMENT.

Jamshoro: Vice-Chancellor Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto has removed Deputy Director Finance Asif Ali Shar from service on charges of harassment against a lady teacher and hostel warden. On the recommendation of Women Harassment Committee SABS University Jamshoro, the Vice-Chancellor, under section (4) (ii) (b) of the protection against harassment of women at the workplace act 2010, removed Asif Ali Shar from the service after being found guilty in the report of committee.

Women Harassment Committee SABS University Jamshoro and Girls Rescue Center Jamshoro conducted separate investigations on the complaint of adjunct faculty and warden girls hostel against the Deputy Director Finance Asif Ali Shar. The Girls Rescue Center Jamshoro submitted its report to SABS University and other related departments on April 15, 2024, whereas, Women Harassment Committee, SABS University on April 17, 2024. The Vice-Chancellor issued the orders of removal from service of Asif Ali Shar on the recommendation of both committees. The matter will be reported to the upcoming meeting of Syndicate. The information of the decision taken by university has been circulated to Secretary Universities and Boards, Government of Sindh, Directorate of Human Rights, Government of Sindh, Chairman Higher Education Commission Islamabad, Chairman Higher Education Commission Sindh, Karachi and DSP Girls Rescue Center.
