ISLAMABAD — S. M. Tanveer, Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group (UBG), called for greater policy consistency, stronger public-private cooperation and measures to boost business confidence while delivering the keynote address at the Pakistan Economic Summit held at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
The summit brought together more than 1,000 representatives from chambers of commerce and industry, women chambers, small chambers, trade associations and leading business organisations from across Pakistan. The event served as a platform for discussing the country’s economic priorities, industrial development and strategies for sustainable growth.
More than 100 words into his address, S. M. Tanveer stressed that national economic progress depends on unity within the business community and close collaboration between the government and the private sector. He said consistent economic policies are essential to creating a predictable business environment that encourages investment, supports industrial expansion and strengthens long-term economic stability.

He also highlighted the importance of promoting exports, facilitating domestic and foreign investment, and implementing practical reforms aimed at improving business confidence. According to Tanveer, coordinated efforts between policymakers and industry stakeholders are necessary to unlock Pakistan’s economic potential and enhance competitiveness in regional and global markets.
The Pakistan Economic Summit was attended by senior leaders of the United Business Group (UBG) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), along with prominent industrialists, traders and business representatives from every region of the country.
Participants exchanged views on key economic challenges and opportunities, reaffirming the importance of sustained dialogue between the public and private sectors to drive economic reforms, encourage entrepreneurship and support long-term national development.
