Karachi (Staff Reporter) – Ramadan, a month known for its mercy and blessings, is being celebrated worldwide. Dr. Aftab Imam, the District Governor 2021-22 of Rotary International 3271, shared his thoughts on Ramadan, highlighting its special significance. He mentioned that during Ramadan, the doors of heaven are open, and the fire of hell is extinguished.
Dr. Aftab encouraged Muslims to increase worship and self-discipline, seeking forgiveness for their sins, as good deeds are greatly rewarded during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of helping the poor and needy, ensuring they also benefit from the blessings of Ramadan.
Ramadan was described by Dr. Aftab as a month of fasting, piety, and restraint, urging the wealthy to assist the deserving and provide iftar for those fasting. He stressed that helping the needy with the wealth given by Allah is a noble act, especially in times of inflation when many struggle to make ends meet.
Dr. Aftab highlighted the contrast between celebrations in other countries, where prices decrease during festivities, and in Pakistan, where prices rise, making life harder for the poor. He praised the efforts of generous individuals who provide ration and Eid treats to bring joy to the deserving during Ramadan.
In conclusion, the Rotary past District Governor called on everyone to make the most of this sacred month by engaging in acts of kindness and charity, spreading the true essence of Ramadan both spiritually and socially.
