Karachi: Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus and Sindh Education Foundation, Govt. of Sindh signed MoU for the adoption of Government School (P.I.B) Central Jail Karachi. The Chief Guest was Managing Director Sindh Education Foundation Abdul Kabir Kazi.

On this occasion, Dr. Aftab Imam said that Rotary International is taking steps to increase the literacy rate in the country. He said that Corona has caused irreparable damage to education and efforts are being made to address it.
Dr. Aftab said that Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus President M. Ali Haider is a valuable asset to Rotary International Pakistan District 3271 and 3272. His efforts to popularize education are commendable. No society can develop without education. Therefore, Rotary International is making efforts to popularize education on a priority basis. He said that to increase the literacy rate in the country, a mobile library has also been set up to re-engage students away from education.
On this occasion, Faiz Kidwai said that Rotary International has provided education to more than 100 students in government schools. While merit-based scholarships are also being given to talented students from all four provinces. He said that Rotary International is providing training to teachers through a teacher training program to create awareness about the modern education system. Because the future of the students is in the hands of the teachers, it is necessary to upgrade the teachers over time.
Ali Haider said there was no shortage of talent among Pakistani youth. They are shining the name of Pakistan in various walks of life. He said that getting an education is a basic right of every child but due to high prices most the students are dropping out of education. While a large number of children are already out of school. Haider said that Rotary International is engaged in the mission of educating every child in the country. Under which numerous projects are being worked on.
Meanwhile, Syed Tehzeeb Kazmi said that there are more than 11,000 closed schools in the country. Even during Corona, a large number of educational institutions have closed due to a lack of resources. He said that the development of any country depends on its educated youth but the literacy rate in Pakistan is very low so there is an urgent need to implement education in the country.
In the end, Abdul Kabir Kazi said that SEF has been making efforts since 1992 to provide quality education to students from remote and backward areas across Sindh. Under which backward communities are being empowered towards social change by creating and facilitating new methods for learning and education.
