Karachi : Roshan Afzal and Urooj Haider Chair Education of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus conducted a training session on February 24, 2025 at Nooria Rizvia Academy. The agenda of the meeting was to prepare for the next academic session. The main points discussed by the trainers in the meeting included curriculum design (yearly) and breaking it into 2 terms, Weekly planning and evaluation, Student conduct and supervision, preparation of worksheets, There were points like counseling for troubled students.
In the meeting, Salman Javed said that after the death of founder Rotarian Tazeen Ali, the reins of Nooria Rizvia Academy fell on his shoulders. He said that the vision of founder Rotarian Tazeen Ali (late) was that mosques should be used as schools from Fajr to Zohr prayers. So we started a pilot project which was recognized by Rotary Nexus and children from 1st to 6th are being educated there. This is elementary school and mashallah the children are studying.
Salman Javed said that our two chairs also visit the school regularly. Work is going on there on a regular basis and there has been an activity room, an IT room, They are also being given computer training and now we are trying to install solar panels there. For this, we are asking for help from our people. These sessions are going very well. Both Rotary Chairs go regularly and give training. Children are also taken for outings like Manora, Quaid-e-Azam’s shrine and visit to the zoo. These children belong to working and poor class people. The session was conducted smoothly and the teachers presented their views and emphasized on measures to make it useful and effective.
