KARACHI – Export can increase prosperity said AMB Rehmatullah Javed founder of Lahore chamber founder Secretary General SAARC Chamber & SME expert. He strongly suggested solving the problems of SMEs.He added that we are losing our industry and our goods are not reaching global markets.
Pakistan is a big country in South Asia but its industrial capacity is less than other south Asian countries and its exports are much ahead of Pakistan. Vietnam & Bangladesh we’re far behind us but they are much better than Pakistan. We need reforms in our policies and government departments. Smuggling & under-invoicing has shattered our financial position.
Due to inflation we are unable to make savings and pressure on the national treasury is increasing and to address this situation illogic taxation is increasing which needs to be made respectable and realistic. Tariff realization will result in more production. Energy is increasing the cost of doing business. Energy in south Asian countries is cheaper. Pakistan to find new markets.
Trade consulates must be given targets. Pakistan must target Central Asian Estates and African countries. Turkey went to Africa 30 years back and today they are the strongest economies. Prosperity is routed through SMEs.
