DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways, the Official Strategic Partner of Expo 2023 Doha, has wrapped up an eventful six months at the exhibition with resounding success. Expo 2023 Doha, the largest horticultural exhibition in the MENA region, focused on raising awareness about climate change and desertification through a variety of exhibition stands, panel discussions, and public activities.
As part of its participation, Qatar Airways collaborated with Hamad International Airport (DOH) to design and build the impressive Qatar Airways Garden, one of the most-visited pavilions at Expo. Over the six-month period, the ‘Qatar Airways Garden’ attracted more than 250,000 visitors, with the airline and the airport playing a significant role in bringing people from nearly 170 global destinations to Expo 2023 Doha.
The pavilion featured a giant yellow teddy bear, an iconic reference to Lamp Bear located at the award-winning Hamad International Airport, as well as landmarks from continents served by Qatar Airways. This highlighted Qatar’s pivotal role as a global hub.
Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “With the successful conclusion of Expo 2023 Doha, Qatar is solidifying its role in hosting large-scale global events. Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport are proud to have contributed to the initiative, allowing us to welcome visitors from all around the world to experience Qatar’s warm hospitality and be a part of its promising future.”
Qatar Airways welcomed the Expo 2023 Doha livery into its fleet to mark its role as the Official Strategic Partner. Throughout the event, the Qatar Airways Garden hosted various activities, engaging experiences, and cultural performances showcasing diverse traditions. Onboard Qatar Airways flights, passengers were treated to organic beverages from Qatari vegan restaurant, Evergreen Organics, as part of the Expo celebrations. The airline also introduced an Expo 2023 Doha a la carte onboard menu in partnership with local farms and Evergreens Organic. Gardening shows and videos were featured on the in-flight entertainment system, OryxOne.
