The Punjab government has enforced a ban on mobile phone usage for both teachers and students in colleges across the province.
A circular issued by the Higher Education Department instructs college directors and principals to ensure compliance with the restriction. The directive states that using mobile phones during classes disrupts the learning environment and negatively impacts the teaching process.
This is not the first time the Punjab government has implemented such restrictions in educational institutions. In December, a similar ban was imposed in schools, with district education officers tasked with ensuring strict enforcement in both public and private institutions.
Additionally, the government has mandated a formal dress code for teachers, requiring them to wear coats, proper shoes, and watches during school hours.
