LAHORE – The Punjab government has introduced significant changes to vehicle registration regulations.
According to reports, the Punjab cabinet has approved an amendment to Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance Act, 1965, eliminating the requirement for vehicle owners to register their vehicles in their respective districts.
Previously, individuals were mandated to complete registration within their district of residence. However, under the revised policy, Punjab residents can now register their vehicles in any district of their preference.
A spokesperson from the excise department confirmed that vehicle registration numbers are now being issued under a unified series across the province, and there are no restrictions on vehicle movement between provinces.
