The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected a proposed commission of inquiry into allegations of conspiracy abroad by former prime minister and party chairman Imran Khan.
PTI leader and former federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that his party will only accept a commission that is subordinated to an independent judiciary.
It may be recalled that the federal government has decided to form a commission of inquiry into the allegations of conspiracy of former prime minister Imran Khan abroad. This commission of inquiry will be independent and will decide in public.
Rejecting the commission, Fawad Chaudhry said that any commission under the government has already been rejected.
He said that the Cabinet had fixed the TORs and accordingly had written a letter to the Chief Justice asking him to form a commission.
He said that the commission would be considered only under an independent judiciary, which would have an open hearing.
