MUZAFFARABAD — The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir chapter has initiated a symbolic hunger strike in front of the Central Press Club, demanding the release of all detainees, including PTI founder Imran Khan. The strike, led by PTI President Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi, entered its third day on Saturday. The camp operates daily from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue indefinitely until their demands are addressed.
PTI Azad Kashmir leaders and activists actively participate, raise slogans, and show solidarity with their leader. Prominent figures at the protest included Central Information Secretary Raja Farukh Mumtaz Khan, Anser Peerzada, Syed Zeshan Haider, Imran Pazeer Sahibzada, Chaudhry Sajjad Peerzada, Jabar Khan Mughal, Asim Mirza, and Advocate Shazia Kiani. These leaders addressed the media, emphasizing their stance and the broader political implications of the hunger strike.
The PTI leaders asserted that their political rivals attempted to undermine the party’s influence but were unsuccessful. They argued that the current government’s apprehension stems from dubious origins associated with Form 47. The PTI’s demonstration reflects ongoing tensions within the region and highlights the party’s continued efforts to advocate for their detained members.
The hunger strike aims to draw attention to the party’s grievances and rally public support for their cause.
