Faisal Chaudhry, the lawyer representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has been detained by police outside Adiala Jail. The arrest came after his meeting with Imran Khan inside the prison. Sources indicate that Chaudhry’s detention is linked to an alleged altercation with jail authorities the day before. He is currently being transferred to a police check post for further legal action.
Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted Faisal Chaudhry permission to meet Imran Khan, directing the Jail Superintendent to ensure lawyers’ access for legal consultations.
In a related development, Imran Khan has written a letter to Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, outlining the reasons behind the growing divide between the military and the public. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed the letter and conveyed Khan’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Pakistani military.
Khan emphasized the importance of unity and called for public support for the armed forces, stating that the nation must stand together in these challenging times. He also highlighted six key points in his letter to the army chief, including concerns about the upcoming February 8, 2024, elections and the 26th constitutional amendment.
