International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.
On a day Message issued by Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Umar Saif. And Director General PSQCA H.U.Khan they said we will require the cooperation of many public and private partners, and the use of all available tools, including international standards and conformity assessment. Further added that to strengthen our societies, making them more resilient and more equitable. It is testament to the power of cooperation and the belief that the sum of whole is greater than parts.
It is in spirit that we are engaging in World Standards Day this is showcases the many ways in which international standards contribute to the success of the Sustainable Development Goals. with standards for ‘Shared vision for a better world’.
Mr. Aijaz Pamhwar Director Import Export of PSQCA Spoke on the occasion that in business industry, standards are strategic tools that reduce costs by minimizing waste and errors, and increasing productivity. They help companies to access new markets, level the playing field for developing countries and facilitate free and fair global trade. The standards offer broad, coordinating guidance to all stakeholders in the society and harmonize disparate practices for the benefit of organizations and their employees., Syed Ali Muhammad Bukhari Director PSQCA said to the audience that Standards will boost economy by removal of barriers to trade, better market access, more business efficiency, flexibility, cost-effective means of complying with international and national conventions, he added.
Standard mitigates the risk for all stakeholders including employers, regulators, employees, compliance agencies, public and community. Mr. Rehmatullah Memon, Uzma Sabir, Ainy Zehra also spoken on the occasion.
