Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a grant of 15 billion rupees for the flood victims of Sindh.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while announcing the grant for the flood affected Sindh said that the country has never seen such a disaster before, 24 thousand rupees will be given immediately to every affected family.
He said that this 24 thousand rupees will be given to the affected family through the Benazir Income Support Program, the federal government is working together with the provincial government.
The Prime Minister said that 28 billion rupees were released to the Benazir Income Support Program.
He said that the flood has caused great destruction in Sindh and Balochistan, philanthropists should go ahead and participate in helping the flood victims.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Sukkur today to visit the flood affected areas, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, Federal Minister Khurshid Shah and Chief Minister Sindh welcomed him.
The district administration and PDMA, while briefing the Prime Minister on the restoration works, said that communication links are cut off due to floods in some areas, steps are also being taken to restore the damaged infrastructure.
The prime minister was informed in the briefing that the flood has also damaged livestock and crops.
The Prime Minister was also briefed regarding the establishment of 43 flood relief camps in Sindh.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Sindh today includes an aerial visit to the flood-hit areas of Sukkur, Rohri, Khairpur, Faizganj, Kot Diji and Thari Mir Wah.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also meet the flood victims.
