Today, President Biden delivered remarks in West Columbia, South Carolina on the historic economic progress being made, in South Carolina and across the country, as a result of Bidenomics. Since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration, companies have committed over $500 billion in manufacturing and clean energy investments across the country. In South Carolina alone, companies have announced $11 billion in manufacturing and clean energy investments, and the Administration has awarded the state $2.6 billion in funding for infrastructure projects and $1 billion in funding for high-speed internet.
The President further evidenced these accomplishments by highlighting the expansion of Enphase Energy, just one on a growing list of companies that are beginning clean energy manufacturing operations in the United States. Enphase announced its investment of over $60 million dedicated to opening six new manufacturing lines in the United States, along with significant capital investments from its manufacturing partners. Enphase’s investment will create up to 1,800 new jobs nationwide–mobilized directly by President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act–including up to 600 new jobs in South Carolina between Enphase and its manufacturing partner, Flex.
While the President was clear that there is more work to be done, something else is also clear: Bidenomics is working. It is working in South Carolina and across the country. President Biden will continue delivering for the American people by investing in America and growing the economy from the middle out and bottom up.
