Islamabad, February 26, 2025 – The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in collaboration with the German Red Cross, organized the ‘Uniting for Climate Action’ event today at PRCS National Headquarters in Islamabad. PRCS Chairperson Farzhana Naek highlighted the organization’s commitment to climate resilience, emphasizing that Pakistan remains one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change. “Climate change is no longer a distant threat but a pressing reality. PRCS has been at the forefront of disaster preparedness and climate resilience, addressing recurring floods, heatwaves, glacial melting, and droughts that disproportionately affect vulnerable communities,” she stated. She further explained that PRCS initiatives align with the IFRC Strategy 2030, prioritizing climate action as a core pillar of humanitarian response.

A special documentary showcasing PRCS’s achievements in climate action was screened during the conference, highlighting the organization’s commitment to fostering sustainable and resilient communities across Pakistan.

Ms Rumina Khurshid and Farzhana Naek distributed Certificates and cheques of 2000 CHF among the participants from PRCS who won the IFRC Limitless grant, recognizing their contributions to climate action efforts.

As a symbolic step toward environmental preservation, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam and Mrs. Farzhana Naek actively participated in an exclusive plantation drive in the PRCS garden, reinforcing their dedication to green initiatives.
Concluding the ceremony, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam shared her remarks in the PRCS Visitors’ Gallery Book, commending the organization’s relentless efforts in addressing climate challenges and promoting humanitarian resilience.

The ‘Uniting for Climate Action’ event reaffirmed PRCS’s dedication to advocating for environmental sustainability and fostering partnerships to combat climate change effectively.
